    Union Kilts

    I came across this site ( http://www.unionkilts.com ).

The picture on the main page looks good.

Is anyone familiar with this kilt?

Looks like another company that wants to make some profit on the UtiliKilt. What's the difference?

They are based in the UK and I believe that Hamish has one.

Some young Welshmen..if they do compete with Utilikilts it will be their advantage with the US Govt's trade position that had the WTO tarrifs on textiles driving up the costs of UKs overseas.

Maybe they are similar since UK is so big on US material only...the Welsh boys are doing the same for the European market.

Think there's been a thread or two on them before, particularly on Ham's test leather kilt from them.

Having some Welsh blood lurking with my Scottish heritage I'm all for them.

Europeans save quite a lot of money buying from an EU-based vendor rather than importing a kilt from the US: Shipment costs are in general lower; we are avoiding an additional 12.5% import tax as well as a custom clearance fee.
Therefore to me the Union kilt looks like a very interesting alternative to Amerikilts, Utilikilts, USA-kilts etc.

Like Gerd (GG), I think it is a interesting and economic alternative for gents from Europe. If Hamish owns one of this leather kilts, im realy interested in his opinion.
