Christmas adventure
So yesterday was the first time my mother's side of the family has seen me in a kilt (at leat a traditional one). Considering this is the Scottish side of the family, mom thought it would be a good idea for me to wear my Macinlay tartan (maternal grandfather's family). along the general ribbing and "aren't you cold?" questions, my grandfather really didn't know what to make of it. The Scottish heritage was completely lost on my grandparents- both of them are for the most part first generation americans. My mother and aunts had started the research into our heritage, which has been increased by a few of us in my generation. I just thought it was a little odd the amount of ribbing I received, although I'm used to it by now.

I had a little adventure myself yesterday.
I wore my kilt all day with no comments at all from the family. They've all seen it before.
However, I went out into the street to wave off an old uncle and it seemed like every neighbour was out too. Many stares, several gave a festive greeting, but not one comment about the kilt.
One stranger, who obviously must live further up the estate, walked past and couldnt take his eyes off me.
I grinned, broadly, when I went back into the house.

Ive been kilted since last Thursday evening, and will contnue to be so until I return to work, a week tomorrow.
I went to the sales yesterday and today, looking for a new TV, and with few looks, nobody really took much notice of it.
I am so hooked on this site that, as I have just moved home and not got the telephone changed over, Ive come into the offcie to log and see what been happening !

Well, if you are still there Alan, I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and that 2005 will bring you happiness and good health.
