At least he is wearing a kilt.

I was leafing through yesterday's Pittsburgh Post Gazette when I came across a pic of a fellow in the "Seen" section wearing a kilt to the local benefit "Going For Baroque". I looked for and found an online link to a story, but since it didn't contain this pic I haven't bothered giving it here. Anyway, the fellow is wearing a Prince Charlee Coatee with an Ayrshire district kilt. Instead of a bowtie he is wearing a tartan tie [in a tartan different from his kilt], white hose, and loafers. The caption under him gives him the Best Dressed award.

And here I have been worrying about following the rules of proper Highland attire when apparently anything goes . At least he is wearing a kilt!

Mychael, I too have horrors when I see how the kilt is worn sometimes, but i agree, 'at least they are not in trousers'!!

I have seen men look like slobs even though they are wearing a suit and tie. Unfortunately, I don't think we can anticipate any better with a kilt.

    Mychael,

I tend to agree with Casey, people regardless of what and how they wear someting, just do not have any class.

I often say, "There is no accounting for some people, because some people are no account." Need proof, it's in the papers every day. But at least he was wearing a kilt.

Good point casey, I think of "wino's" or "bums" on the street (God Bless them) that may wear a suit and even a tie, but look most untidy.

I think a kilt, badly worn, beats a badly worn suit any day.

Great someone kilted made the paper in a positive light, even if he wasn't "by the book." Hopefully, lots of guys out there saw it and thought they should get one of those...or, gasp, even some wives said, "Honey, you'd look great in a kilt - you should get one."

Sad commentary: yesterday met a guy in my little town...I'm in my brown leather UK. He looks at me and says, "I'm Scottish too, even had a kilt, but the moth's got it."

Maybe more publicity for kilts will help get the reluctant owners to haul them out of the closet and interrupt the moth feast.
