    Buzz Kidder

Has anyone dealt directly with Buzz Kidder before? I ordered a sporran and a couple of sets of sporran straps back at the first of the month and other than an email "reciept of order" I've heard nothing. I contacted them by email on Tuesday, no response as yet. If I have not heard anything by Monday I'll start calling them and the "ugly customer" will come out I'm sure.

I understand waiting for a kilt to be made but is this is taking it a little far, I think. Anybody else have this problem with them?

I've dealt directly, and while I was with USAKilts. Buzz gets stuff there pretty fast. Remember too, that this is not his only business... and he has to produce for vendors who are loading-up for the impending festivals. Two weeks really isn't all that long for what you're getting.

I'm not making excuses, but he's a very nice and honest man. He's an ex-highland athlete that MORE than understands what it's like on the other end of ordering.

By the way, all his stuff is made in-house and NOT by some oriental export company.

I have ordered two sporrans from Buzz. The first took a looonnng time to arrive. The second was here in a week, with a nice thank-you card.

Hang in there it is definately worth the wait.

I ordered a canvas kilt from them. It took several weeks, but it did come. They are just not very e-mail conscious. Other than orders, they don't seems to respond to communication that way. Some people are like that--those of us who are comfortable in cyberspace often forget about them.

However, the kilt did come. It did fit, and it was what I expected. I am quite happy wearing it.

Ok guys, thanks. I'll give it a while yet before I go 'ugly' on'em. Nice to know that they have a good rep to go with a product I'm very happy with.

Did you ever get your sporran?

We carry Buzz's sporrans in our museum gift shop. Glenn's right, other than taking orders, Buzz doesn't communicate via email much. Most of the time when we talk with him its on the phone.

He has recently moved his Highland apparell business (over the New Year, I think) and this has slowed him down a bit. We just received in a large shipment that we ordered at the beginning of the month.

His sporrans are the best value for the money, as far as I am concerned. As roomy as any that I've seen available here in the USA (aside from some very large hand made ones I've seen), made from soft, quality leather. And they are affordable, which is a nice extra bonus!

I have one of his brown Rob Roy sporrans that I wear just about every single day of the week, and it's held up perfectly to the constant use. His sporrans outsell any Scottish-import sporran in our shop, 20 to 1 easily. They are the most popular ones we carry.

    Aye,
    Matt
