Tartan Day - April 2 - New York City...
The tartan day parade begins around noon, and goes up 6th avenue. The Loch Rannoch Pipe band will go early because...
Barleyjuice will be at Connolly's at 3:00 in the afternoon for a post parade BASH. We're right around the corner... so drop on in.
Barleyjuice will be at Rocky Sullivan's around 9:00pm for a night closing gig like last year. Ahhh... memories. Same place, fresh beer. They may have even repaired some of the tables from our last visit.

Just found this subject and must say that I was there in 2002 and had a grand time. Will try to make it back someday.
As you said nothing like it.

There isnt an X-marks the scot group going, is there?
Otherwise I might just toss myself into the nebulous "individual" category.

Is it time to raise a Philadelphia Kilted Regiment? (Battalion, Company, Squad?)
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?

Les, I would LOVE to help you with that project, but I'm going to be just a little busy.
Both locations that we'll be at are HIGHLY recommended for the festivities. The bars are incredible and the people are NUTS. Rocky Sullivan's is notorious for giving Barleyjuice the best crowd participants.
IF you're going to attend a Tartan Day Parade, THIS is the one to go to. New York City just knows how to do it right!!!

Road Trip? Och Aye! I was originally planning to drive up and spend Saturday night (in a hotel with my girlfriend), but I don't have reservations yet. If anyone wants to carpool or maybe hire a car / van speak now so we can get the ball rolling. The Ms. and I could ride up with the Philadelphia Kilted Regiment PKR? and catch a train back the next day. Anyone else have a plan or interested in sorting this one? There's a hotel/hostel near Madison Square Garden that has bunks for less than $40 a night www.chelseastar.com. I've stayed there before, it's clean and friendly albeit spartan ie. shared bathrooms, European style.
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?

Hey, that could work. As long as I get into the City, I can always grab a train outta Penn Station and visit the family in Jersey and guilt one of them into driving me back down.
