getting high in a kilt

Just a piccie from a recent hike in the Tasmanian Highlands.
We are standing on Hansons Peak with Little Horn and part of Cradle mountain in the background.

I'm wearing a USAK poly vis 8 yard traditional.

On a personal note, the full day walk was special to me because I was three weeks into a juice fast at the time. This was further proof to me of the energy that fasting provides, contrary to popular opinion.

Thanks lads, Dana, I have friends in Denver who plan to take me hiking in the Rockies in July, should be fun.

Alan, a kilt is the very finest thing to wear when hiking! You can keep all the fancy thermal stuff, a good kilt is all you need. The freedom is great, and when the wind blows up the mountain...it's quite refreshing!

If you visit Denver I sugest Gray's Peak

it is 14270'feet (4351m)

Great shot Graham! If you do Gray's you have to do Torrey's. Get a couple of 14ers at the same time since they are side by side. (A 14er is any mountain peak over 14,000' a goal of many a hiker.)

Two great minds. Was just up the Spencer trail above Lees Ferry, AZ last weekend (think a goat trail up the side of a 1500' cliff).

What a beautiful view... of the scenery. It's especially nice to see, what with all the snow here.

I proud of you with the "fasting". Not an easy thing to do! I might have tried it years ago, but Stacey's a professional Pastry Chef and there's just WAY too much to keep me from trying it. Okay, that and the weight loss which I do NOT need!

Until we get a heat-wave... keep posting those warm weather pics. PLEASE!

Hi Glen,

We've been vacationing to Colorado for about 6-7 years now. We go to a family camp down near the town of Westcliffe in the Sangre De Christo's. We absolutely love the mountains.
