Kilted at the Opera
My way of celebrating tartan day was to attend the opera kilted.
Now this was not an ordinary attendance. My wife and I were the guests of Robert, of RKilts, the stage manager(hope I have your title correct). This was truly a wonderful evening. Robert and the stage crew treated us royally. And, as usual the kilts were a hit. I even had my picture taken as modelling a tartan for someone's husband.
You can see the picture under the member meeting gallery.
Thank you Robert!
Now, to top off the evening, Robert measured me for a Black Denim RKilt. He even measured my wife for a later kilt purchase.

Sounds like a great time Casey.
Be careful around Robert though...if you let him show you any leather swatches - or worse, if you smell any leather swatches...you'll be hooked for sure on an RKilt leather...

Ron,
It's interesting that you should say that. I have met Robert twice now and he was wearing a leather kilt both times.
Actually, he was very laid back about making a kilt for me. In a age of "in your face" selling this is very refreshing.
You are right though. When you see the product it sells itself.
For those that have visited the Rkilts site I can assure you that the pictures do not do just to the product.

Ahhh, he's the subtle marketer though
Don't know if I could have withstood a whole leather kilt.
Robert helped me greatly by making up two all leather sporran straps for me...but when he shipped them he tossed in leather swatches....knowing I was craving another leather kilt...
Once I had a whiff and felt the quality of the leather I was hooked and soon my plastic was on fire again.

Behind the stage is always interesting. Having spent a lot of years playing in theatre orchestra pits, I still think it's a hoot to see the mechanics going on that the audience doesn't see.
Sounds like a good time was had by all!

Nice photo, it would seem that opera is more casual over there (except for the lad on the far right wearing a tie), not that I should speak, the only opera I know is the web browser
I like the tartans, but sorry, that leather colour is one i'm not keen on for myself. Robert carries it off OK tho'.

And the mark of the professional is when he/she can make it all seem easy.
