i kilted all but one day this week to work. i always get the standard raz. but that's ok. they know i'm serious about it but at the same time they know i can take a ribbing. [resistance is futile - they will be assimilated]
we were having some UPS problems early on in the week. seems we kept adding machines to the network and pretty well maxed out our power supply in one of the data center rooms. we had to hup two and get electric pronto. well, electricians came in and tapped a breaker box and ran 3 lengths of copper to the dc room. they pulled ceiling tiles and made a general mess of things and then they didn't even clean up.
a day goes by and no one takes the initiative to vacuum the carpet. so today i grab the vac and get to work. pretty soon i notice a pair of feet standing behind me but i kept at the job. soon enough there were another pair of feet behind me so i turn around and there's my boss and a coworker doing all they could to keep from busting a gut. i'm sure it was a picture; me all huddled over the vac in my kilt and all. i knew what they were doing so i started laughing and told them not to say a [deleted] word. and about that time here comes another one with a camera in his hand because he wanted a picture of me wearing a "skirt" and vacuuming the floor... FROM BEHIND! ....LOL [ i mean, come on. you can get away with it on your wife! ]
well, he didn't get his picture. i know he'd would have posted it on the net somewhere and i'd be having to explain stuff to people.
anyway, we all had a good laugh about it.
kilts make everyone smile.
