Business branding for the self employed
I wore my kilt to a business social last night and one of the fellow consultant asked me whether my kilt is part of my branding.
I have to admit, I wear my kilts to draw attention at various business functions. So far, people are remembering me as the kilted guy. They don't necessary to know what I do, but they remember my face and initiate conversation.
In Tasmania, Graham is the kilted signmaker
In Portland Oregon, there is a kilted realtor.
Hopefully, I will be known as the kilted corporate trainer by the end of the year.

What a relief!!!!!
I thought you were talking about branding with a hot iron.
My nephew was stupid enough to do that a couple of years ago. It really chapped my butt for a kid I was responsible for to do something like that.
Among other things, I told him that slaves and live stock were branded. Then I asked, "Which are you?"
Enough of that rant for now.

i keep telling my boss that. we do trade shows several times a year. i keep telling the boss, if we had a corporate tartan and did the shows in formal Highland dress, we'd bring the house down. we may not sell anything, but the visitors, sure as hell wouldn't forget us.
but the boss is hung up on "skirts".
brand away Raphael ....
and in the BlueGrass, I'm the Kilted Geek!

I have noticed that while giving talks and attending seminars and such that the kilt gives of an aura of respect. It shows confidence and lets people know that you think for yourself.

Well done Raphael, it will not harm your image, I have more work than I can point a stick at, I kinda feel that kilts may have played a part.

I've done it here at the tobacco shop. People come from all over to see the guy at the cigar shop that wears a kilt. I'm working on getting my partner wearing one as he is also a MacDonald. He actually didi have the full uniform back in the 60's when he was presented to the Queen. His ex-wife burned it though.
so I guess I'm the kilted tobacconist
