Kilt Store Sale
I just thought I'd point out that the Kilt Store, one of our advertisers, is having a sale. When you factor in the X Marks discount, it looks like a traditional 8 yard kilt, made in Scotland from 13 or 16 ounce fabric from the usual suppliers can be had for $385.
Now, THAT is a deal. If you were ever looking for a tank, this might be the time to go for it.

I learned on the television today that Argentina is just full of Europeans. Everything is expensive, and clean, and they speak spanish with an italian accent.
Also that it's beautiful, and that the gauchos on the show seemed to think that showing you how they kill/butcher cows will somehow make you hungry.

from KiltStore.net
All three are from their "Modern Casual Kilts" range and they are first class in every way.
You might like to bear in mind that KiltStore do not make the kilts themselves, they are "brokers" or "agents" for several different kiltmakers. If you look carefully when you have homed-in on a particular kilt on the website, you will see that the maker's name is given. I suspect that these are Wholesale Only kiltmakers and that one could not approach them as an individual but, that said, the end products are excellent, the quality is good and the KiltStore prices are very good indeed, especially during the Sale!

Argentina...
Who would have thunk that Argentina has a tartan...??
Argentina has a fairly large Scottish expat and immigrant population, beginning in the early 19th century. An e-mail buddy of mine was from Argentina, and had Scottish heritage, so he had the full "kilt kit" and was fairly active with the St. Andrew's Society of Buenos Aires. He moved to Quebec recently to escape the economic depression that has hit Argentina hard in the last several years.
There is still a Scots Presbyterian Kirk in B.A., and a lot of Scots, Welsh, English & Irish went to South America as soldiers-of-fortune in the wars of liberation, or as businessmen.
The St. Andrew's Society has an active pipe band, and there are also pipe bands and Scottish societies in Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil.
