Debut of my Ramsey Tartan Kilt

Last night I went to a fund raiser for Dana Farber Institute. I was told by my friends to wear my kilt.

I will give the good points first:
I got several good comments on the kilt. I think it is the nicest looking tartan that I have. One woman, from Scotland, was very happy to see a kilt. Another woman wanted a picture taken with me and my kilt.

Now to the negative points:
One woman walked over to me and motioned like she was going lift the front. I gave her the "look of death" ( sort of like the look my grandfather gave me was I was bad). While I realized she had a few too many to drink, I mentally reviewed my martial arts blocks in case I needed them. When she got the message, she tried to get my friends to ask. Finally, she asked herself, "What is under that kilt?" I said "Just the usual" and walked away.

Later, a guy said "I have to ask. What's under the skirt?" I know some would have punched him right there. But I am very certain his girlfriend made him ask. I just replied, "Good boys don't ask!" He laughed, but I knew he got the message.

Finally, when it was time to go home, the wind had picked up from earlier in the evening. As I walked down the stairs, I thought I was going to lose control of the entire kilt. Fortunately, my friends tell me I did a good job of controlling it. After all, I don't want to remove the mystery.

Despite the few "bumps in the road", I think the evening went quite well.

I do have other pictures in my gallery; but haven't taken a picture of this kilt. As soon as I get a picture I will post it.

glad things went so well for you! I have a very large, hairy sporran and when someone lunges for my apron I can simply hold it firmy in place to keep myself covered that is, if I see them coming in time...I love the to-the-stripe pleating in your gallery (ah...my latest obsession...)

I was wearing a leather sporran. It did help keep the kilt down in the wind as I exited the building.

So far I've been perty lucky. No out of control kilt problems but I do like the idea of a large hairy sporran to anchor the front aprons down.
What kind of furry sporran are we talking about?
