    Time to put on trousers!

I've just got back from a few days in Prague, when for much of the time I wore the kilt, and always without problems or any comments other than positive.

However on the night we arrived a Saturday the place was humming with stag parties or maybe just drinking visits and many of those involved were kilted.

Whilst the idea was good-the effect upon me was for me to return to my apartment and change into trousers!

For I do not wish to be associated with chaps lifting each other's kilts, and their own-and in general behaving in a most rude and uncivilised manner.

Sounds like the problem was not the kilts, but the guys in them. If I didnt like that behaviour I would have been with that group in either trousers or kilts. I'd have still been kilted though, give everyone an example of what a fine gentleman a man in a kilt can be.

I understand James, but I would probably just wear my kilt elsewhere and avoid the mindless rabble.

    James,

I have never heard of a drunken stag party! (he says quizically), what goes on there? (states sarcastically).

You have to do what you have to do, regardless.

Maybe stag parties in Prague are full of nothing but gentlemen? If they are like they are here, I would probably not go for this old body just loves its beauty sleep.

Hope that you had a good time!

The lady and I had an excellent time, and as said I mainly wore the kilt without any bother or adverse reaction: in fact compliments were the order of the day.

So I hope as suggested that I was a good advert for both the kilt and manners.

Sadly the louts and was said it was the louts and not their wear, were because of that same wear readily identifiable. This is where being streetwise comes in-for if by ones own garb one can by association be linked to them, there can be problems with both the police 'usual suspects', and others with whom they might be having a disagreement and who are looking for a fight.

So living as I do in London I'm well aware of the problems both with a neo fascist police force as we now have, and a rising level of street violence.
