    Hello From denver

Hello all, we have arrived safely in Denver after a lovely time in Santa Rosa (north of san Francisco) with dear friends, the white family and members of Distant Oaks.
Highlights of our time included a private concert from Distant Oaks, a truly talented and wonderful celtic band, and wonderful Christian people also.
Also, touring northern California, (Sonoma County) was beautiful, the landscape is very similar to Tasmania, except for the giant redwood trees, and the fact that cars drive on the wrong side of the road

Tomorrow sees the beginning of a week of our Church Convention in downtown Denver. We hope to get in some walking in the Rockies before we leave.

Apart from some nasty experiences with US airports, the trip is going to plan.
It's been tremendously interesting doing this trip kilted, I brought no trews at all.
The reactions have not been greatly different from Tasmania, no compliments yet, just curious looks, pointing fingers, smiles etc.
Maybe when i hang out with glen I'll get some nice words

I will try to get off another report asap.

Sounds pretty nice Graham. Yeah, US airports are nasty places. Hope the rest of your trip goes well.

    Graham,

Just 10 minutes ago Sherri and I got back from Healdsburg, CA just north of Santa Rosa. We were attending a wedding for one of her co-workers.

Yes, its beautiful country there. Denver is an interesting town, and Boulder is culturally similar to San Francisco and has some great trailheads if you have time to get some hiking in.

San Jose Airport is the nicest of the San Francisco Bay Area airports. Oakland Airport is the easiest to get in and out of because it's arranged logically. Oakland Airport is actually closer to downtown San Francisco than San Francisco Airport, but the traffic across the Bay Bridge makes it about the same amount of driving time.

San Francisco International is the only truly international airport in the area, so most overseas travellers are stuck with using our most convoluted, crowded, and confusing airport.

A local news show did a satire on the San Francisco Airport that had families camping in the parking structures because they couldn't find their cars.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip to the U.S.

    Keep us posted.
