This isn't a cheap hobby!
I ordered again today, even supported a sponsor. Macdonald of the Isles Hunting, a nod to my maternal grandmother. The guys at Kilt Store have been most helpful.
Now I figure I need to get a brown sporran & sporran belt. Probably a pouch style, any good leads?
Next tartan already picked, just gotta lay in some cash over the next two months.

Hobby?
Wearing a kilt isn't a hobby. It is a way of life.

Check out R Kilts' sporran and belt. I've looked around and he makes a really good one for a fair price. It's just slightly oversize to carry more than the traditional shape. I'm picking up mine this weekend. He posts here and he's a good guy.

While I agree with the sentiment, it doesn't negate the fact that's it's geting expensive.
And, it's not just money, it's time. I picked up two more history books from the liabrary on the way home tonight.
Not complaining, just thought someone else would be able to identify.

Hey cousin, that's my clan tartan...did you get the green on green? Have pic when/if the gallery comes back to life.
Got mine from Kathy's Kilts at www.kathyskilts.com
She carries sporrans...but I got mine from Freelander on this board.
Nice thing about the Macdonald of the Isles hunting is that it works well with black or brown belts, sporrans, etc.

Rivercuz, yes, that's the one.
How did you get Freelander? I've left a half dozen emails with no response.
I have a leather guy in Argentina that does great things with capybara (pig sixed rodent). Would love to get one from him.

Contacted him by PM off this board. Freelander Sporanno on the members list.
If my besotted memory is sparking David may be off on vacation/holiday.
They might be making sporran straps by now too.

David is on holiday, but you could contact his partner Sten Rune who is also a member here. I don't think Sten is on holiday. He would also be in the member list.

Whatever it takes, PLEASE get one of the Freelander Sporrans! They are THAT good.![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
You can also hit BearKilts.com to see what he's offering these days. Bear has a habit of finding the "not boring" stuff out there to go along with his original designed kilts.
Other than that... hit any of the numerous Renn Faire and Celtic festivals in the area to see what the vendors are offering. Some of my best sporrans cost less than $40 (usd) and are hand-made by artisans. Those festivals are a wonder for finding things! Chances are that you'll also be able to have a sporran belt fashioned by the same vendor right there on the spot! I've done it four times now!
~NOTE~ You might also have a member in Maryland take a look for you at the Maryland Renn Faire. There's a vendor there EVERY YEAR that deals in leather, and sells sporrans for $30 - $50... celtic knots, celtic symbols, all colors, and wonderfully made.
