I don't have the solid black, but I have the HW Black Watch Acrilyc. As far as I know they're made and feel the same way. (btw, I currently have only a standard black stewart, and HW black watch).

The HW is obviously better than the standard. Having the fell is nice, it feels a little more legit, and it fits quite nicely. The drop is fine on me (6'4") with the 24" drop. Don't know what else to throw in there endorsing it at the moment, but I like it.

No I don't, but I have had my eye on it. Let me know what you think if you do decide to go for one. The hidden tartan looks great.

    Shadow Tartan

I have the Stillwater Heavyweight. It hangs well, has good weight, and looks great. Dollar for dollar, it's the best new kilt I've purchased.

The original "heavy weights" were only started in acrylic, but are now nothing but all wool. The shadow tartan black is beautiful and WELL worth a look. For those that are not comfortable wearing someone else's tartan, or just plain like the looks of a traditional-looking solid... these are THE way to go without paying a load of fundage.

As we all know, StillWater is the best at taking our concerns and desires and turning them into reality. The apron tapers were changed. The fringe was changed. The material was changed. All this done while the price was left to make them affordable! I have NEVER had any problem supporting them since they are working to satisfy us.

You just know that they'll expand the colors in the future since it's been mentioned many times here. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the coming months!!!

I would STILL love to see a heavy weight saffron!!!!! At that price, they would be a wonderful alternative for the Irish and the fashionable. ;)

You won't be alone Sav. The Stillwater solids will be plentiful in the region in no time!

Nice Kilt!!! I have been thinking about getting one for a while. I also noticed your Grey Kilt Hose and I have to get a couple pairs of those too.

black on black WELL worth the $

I have several stills and the black on black shadow heavyweight is actually VERY nice. I second all the positive comments made above with the exception that ALL SW's are a bit short on me if I wear them at my waist as intended; I have to wear them low like jeans to come to my knees.

Been wanting a Stillwater but my legs are too short for the length they cut them in. Too far in the boonies to have a kilt hem shortener that I trust...plus...why??

Maybe....some time when I'm headed off to the big city for a while I could buy one and take it "somewhere" to have it shortened.

Know they gotta run their business like they gotta run their business...but can always hope....heck...even SportKilts now offers to size the length to fit the person buying it.

Thanks for the pics..just makes me whine more... :-(
