    Calgary & area guys...

In case you hadn't seen the thread I started in the "games" section, I'll post a reminder here.

This Saturday (September 3rd) is the Calgary Highland Games at Shouldice Park. Anyone aside from myself planning to attend? I'd like to meet up with some local Xmarks members if I can.

Also, on Sunday the 4th there will be games up in Canmore. I'm hoping to be at that one as well, depending on the weather.

    It's on my list . . .

But it's not going to happen, again, this year. *sigh*

We've talked about it as a band, and as groups of individuals within the band. I think it's going to take a couple of us biting the bullet and going, and then reporting back. It IS about 500 miles, but people travel to Calgary all of the time from central Montana, increased restrictions at the border or not.

    Hope you enjoy(ed), Al.

    Regards,
    Mac

Sorry I didn't let you know before we went Al.
My boyfriend and I just decided to go this morning.
Had a great time though. Great bands, great scenery ;-), nice weather, nice beer tent ;-). I wore my blackwatch (which is currently my only kilt :-( ) white dress shirt with rolled sleeves.
Pretty much the pic I posted in the pic section. Except instead of sneakers I wore flip flops, and since it was very warm I was glad I did.
I also bought a new kilt pin, simple sword shape with a DNA helix twist down it and a small green stone for a pommel and a larger green one at the hilt. Hope you had fun, we had a great time admiring the tartans and trying to decide which ones we would like to buy lol (and turning my boyfriend's off hand intent to get a kilt to a serious craving).

I don't know if I spotted you down there or not, Tiran. Too many kilted fellows to know who's who. However, I was one of only two guys in a Utilikilt. The other was the fellow (Ray) from the Clan Cameron tent. I told him about Xmarks, so hopefully he'll show up here. He sounded interested.

The event itself was fantastic! Far better than last years. Nice weather certainly helped. I took a bunch of pics, as soon as I can get them developed I'll post some.

There's a 95% chance that I'll be heading up to Canmore tomorrow for their games. I'll be in my Irish National kilt & black sweater if I go.

Mac...I've heard that the Canmore games are even better than the Calgary ones. I don't know if this is the usual setup, but the Canmore games this year are the day after the Calgary games. I'll be heading up for them tomorrow.

It would make things a little easier to take for your band if you could hit two events in one weekend. It would be great to have you come up here for them, too.
