    One easy sale...

Last night, my fiancee and I headed over to the local Value City to purchase our wedding bed and, as is my custom now, I went kilted. We weren't sure if this particular store had this bed and all my calls to the store were either met with ridiculously long holds or disconnects. I was sure, though, that I had seen it there recently and, sure enough, it was right in the window when we pulled up.

We walked in on a group of three salesmen near the door, two of which just gawked at me. The third said with a smile, "Is that a kilt? Wow!" and came over to introduce himself as Stuart ("That's a Scottish name!") and try to sell me something. Little did he know that he need not open his mouth further, as I pointed to the bed and said, "We'll take it...cash!"

The other two were still gawking at the guy in the skirt by the time Stuart rang us up, arranged our delivery date, and cashed us out. We were out of there in less than ten minutes and Stuart made an easy commission and has a great story to tell his wife tonight.

The other two, well...I think they sold a barstool or two between them.

My wife and I also have a sleigh bed. Ours has a unique touch to it in that it also has Mission Style characteristics. Instead of a single piece of wood in head and foot boards, the ends are made of slats, with the slats curved to create the sleigh look. This is similar to what we have, though the mirrored dresser is all wrong. (We didn't buy it from this store) http://www.homfurniture.com/Pages/400/4-9904208.html

    Congrats on the purchase.

Good old Value City! My wife likes to go there and put the GIANT bras on her head... the ones that ONLY Value City would carry.

I've been to the one on 40... towards Sparrows Point. Otherwise, the ones in Philadelphia are GREAT for baseball, football and hockey jerseys at a "nothing" price.
