IHad a great time at the Williamsburg Scottish festival this past weekend. I tried some really good Scotch, found out a few new things and joined The Local House of Gordon. I have a direct connection with that clan through my mother's side of the family. As for the new discoveries, I stopped by the Irish American Society tent, looking for information on my father's side of the family, and the first thing they told me is that I am really Scottish. The family emigrated to Northern Ireland from the Scottish Islands (Barra and such). Then I found out that there is a branch of The Morman Library right here in the Richmond Va area, and I could go there to find out more about my family's geneology. As for entertainment at the festival, Tinker's Dam was pretty good. I had to leave before Poisoned Dwarf went on stage because all of the bands were behind schedule due to a last minute substitution due to transportation problems caused by Hurricane Rita.
