My new Welsh Cilt
As many will be aware, a few weeks ago I spent a superb weekend in the Cardiff area of Wales as guest of Derek (our renowned cilt wearer) and his lovely wife, Elaine .
Apart from attending one of the hugely enjoyable Ceilidhs they regularly organise, and have them put on a surprise party (well, it was a wonderful surprise to me!), I managed to collect the Welsh cilt I had previously ordered on-line from the Wales Tartan Centre in Cardiff.
I have to confess to opting for the less expensive 4½ yard leisure cilt in polyviscose, rather than the 8 yard traditional in wool but, with its gilt cilt pin and embroidered red dragon/St. David's cross emblem, this fine cilt is a very welcome addition to my 'Kilt Kollection'.
The unusual tartan is the Brithwe Dewi Sant (St. David's Tartan) or the Welsh National Tartan. Here's a photo:
No. of Kilts: 102. "Title": Lord Hamish Bicknell, Laird of Lochaber / Life Member: The Scottish Tartans Authority / Life Member: The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society / Member: The Ardbeg Committee / My NEW Photo Album: Sadly, and with great regret, it seems my extensive and comprehensive album may now have been lost forever!/

Great Kilt
Great kilt hamish, you have quite an eye for kilts, and kilt makers, now if I could just win a big lottery and buy one kilt from all the places you have one from... Oh to win the lottery....
Anyway, great picture and great kilt,
KP

Ham,
Very nice! Being of Welsh descent, I am very interested in getting a cilt (watch the spelling!) in that tartan.
I do have a question for you based on some of your other posts. You had mentioned "finding some weight" and going from a 36 to about a 40 currently. My question(s) is if you wear a girdle, as I can't see a 40 inch waist on you in this picture, nor do you look appreciably bigger around the middle than in some of your older pictures on imff.net. Or possibly you are much taller than I think you are based on the pictures. Not trying to pry, but based on the pictures I can not imagine where you are hiding a 40" waist!

Beautiful cilt (heck, derek has us all speaking Welsh now!)
I love the tartan, speaking of saints, I'm reminded of the lovely tartan I saw on Iona, the St Columba tartan. I'd love a kilt in that one.
thanks for sharing the piccie, you look great, well coordinated as usual!
