    Kiltmart kilts?

Seen a bunch of kilts on eBay from Kiltmart.com. Anybody have any experience with them? I just searched the forums and did not find any matches. Their prices look decent, a little less than a SW Standard, but can't tell much from the pictures. For $49, might be worth a try as a cheap alternative. I like their "Affordable Pride of Scotland" kilt, although not sure it is the real Pride of Scotland.

Dunno why that doesn't show up on the search.

    Shay,

Thanks! Based on the pictures of Al G. Sporrano with his in the same tartan, I might just go for it, but after I have a look at the Scottish store at Epcot this weekend! Kiltmart won't be going anyplace, but I won't have a chance to see a real kilt up close again very soon!

I will also take some pictures in the store and anything interesting I see and post them here when we return.

Those kiltmart kilts are probably on a par with the Stillwater Economy kilts. Nothing much, but probably OK for around the house.

I would probably rate them in between a SW Economy and a SW Standard. Not nearly as poorly designed as the economy, but not something I'd wear out to a more dressy occasion.
Absolutely GREAT for basic day-to-day casual wear, though.

So, how was your experience with Kiltmart? Did you buy from them? Was the kilt worth it? Are you happy with your purchase?

    Mark,

I actually got distracted by life in the meantime! However, I just looked at their site again, and I think that one of the kilts I got off eBay might be from kiltmart. I got a pride of scotland from ebay a few months ago, and in looking at the kiltmart site, it is the same one. For a review, it is very light weight. The only reason it might not be a kiltmart kilt is that mine is not acrylic, at least not the same as a SWK acrylic (I have the standard Nightstalker and HW Shadow tartan). A decent enough kilt I guess, but I would not spend the money again. I would save up and get an AK, SWK HW, or USAK casual.
