This past Saturday I went to see a trio of bands, one of which was a fiddle quartet called Halali (pron: 'Halalious' would rhyme with 'hilarious'). Three fiddles and a guitar, they're just awesome. As they proclaimed before a set, "We're going to play some traditional Scottish tunes, just to keep it 'reel'". I've seen one of the fiddlers, Hanneke Cassel, and the guitarist, Flynn Cohen, several times before live; Flynn is prominent in the local bluegrass scene (and I'm prominent in listening to the local bluegrass scene).
