Me, Dad, DD, and Scottish National...
This weekend my father drove over from upstate NY to Chicago for the Thanksgiving day weekend. We went to see the Rockettes Xmas show on Friday, and here is a picture of me, my youngest daughter, my father, and one of the trees in the Rosemount theater here in Chicago (which is beautiful, our first time there!). You can't see it, but I am wearing navy hose (that match the shirt) with green flashes, that I think looked really sharp with the kilt.
The show was great and we had a wonderful time.

The father/son resemblence is astounding!
Did he have any comments, or had he seen you in a kilt before? I can't remember any stories from you regarding a response from family other than your wife/kids.

IIRC, this was the first time your father had seen you kilted, was it not? Did everyone have an enjoyable Thanksgiving?
Bryan...by the way, that's a great picture...

Thanks for the comments! My Dad had not seen me kilted yet, and really did not have may comment, one way or the other. He is going through some tough times in his (married) life right now, so the kilt is probably minor in relationship to that. I do have a SK that does not fit me that would be perfect for him, but have to wait for him to get through his own hard times.
I never considered he and I to resemble each other that much, but now that somebody pointed it out, WOW, definitely a family resemblance.
I don't know if he would wear a kilt, it did not come up much this weekend. I had let him know through email that I was wearing one, but he never really followed up. We have a somewhat different relationship as he and my mother divorced when I was 3 and she and I moved to FL (from NY), so not a lot of frequent interactions. We are more like long time friends than father and son.
I have been a little slow responding as I am in a class all week, and they have no Internet access!!!! So when I get home from class, there is dinner with the family, playing with the kids, checking work email (yuck!) and catching up on my MS class, XMarks takes a back seat. And you guys aren't helping! 288 posts when I logged in this evening at 7:30CST, and it is now 9:15 and I have not gotten to the the end! If you want my quality feedback, you will HAVE to pace yourselves to meet my personal schedule! No more than 10 posts per hour IN TOTAL, not by individual! You guys work it out amoung yourselves. I am sure that means Graham gets 7 posts per hour and the rest of you will have to divvy up the remaining 3!
Rob.. Sitting here cracking myself up....10 posts per hour, who am I kidding?
