as seen on TV
While watching my favorite channel (Discovery's "The Science Channel"), I caught a show about a crew being tasked with reproducing an ancient siege tower. One of the carpenters was wearing the Workman's UtiliKilt. The camera work for the show didn't treat him any differently, except for one point during their introductions. They did a quick close-up of his kilt from various angles, and quickly mentioned it was the latest thing to wear for carpenters (they never said the brand name).
A few weeks before that, I was watching the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour". (For those outside the US, just Google the phrase to learn what that is.) The guys went into a pottery shop to cut up, be comedians, and intimidate the earthenware. The proprietor of the shop was wearing a post-modern kilt (not sure if it was an UK, AK, PK, FK, etc.). There was never any mention made of it, the camera work never showcased the kilt, and the comedians never pointed it out -- which really surprised me.
I was really glad to see a kilt in the media, and see it treated as if it were a pair of pants.

Very interesting. I'd like to see the show on the seige tower. I was just watching Blue Collar... last night. Hilarious, but no kilts.

I think that the TV version of Blue Collar Comedy Tour (not Blue Collar TV) skips all the trips around town showing just the on stage preformance.
We rented the DVD once and I think I missed a good portion of it but I did like when they were at the sporting goods store and one of them got in all camo. He laid down on some fake rocks by a fish tank suprising the rest of them who walked up to look at the fish.

Yep, you are right. Now I remember. I have seen the TV version and the DVD version and just mushed the two together in my head. It is on the DVD version.
Anyone else catch the site of kilts on TV (or other media) and the media in question was *not* about anything related to Scottish stuff?
