I reckon the lad has a few drams under his sporran.

But regards to cell phones (or mobiles, as we call them) I clip it onto the sporran strap.

I keep mine either in a fanny pack or sporran and I don't think there's anything to worry about. If you're really worried about it doing harm, wrap it in foil.
