Corduroy Kilts
Saw in the new Utilikilts newsletter that they have corduroy kilts now too.
Anyone seen one with their own eyes, or have one they've worn. Interested in feedback on how they compare with other kiltmaker's corduroy kilts.
Actually, I've never seen a corduroy kilt and would appreciate what those who have them think.
As much as I like fashion extreems and blending fashions, corduroy just seems an unusual material for a kilt...

Very interested in seeing these as well. I'm as close to getting an AmeriKilt cord, but when I heard UK was having one too I held off. I've heard they are actually in the store now...Where are our Seattle brethren?

Ron,
If no one else chimes in about actually touching a Cord UK, I will be down in Seattle later this month and will stop in and check them out.
I need to walk a Freedom Kilt into the competition anyway. I think it's time Steve met Steve.

I wear the kilt because: Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

There's a fellow who comes to our San Francisco Bay Area kilt nights at the Devils Canyon Brewery who's made a couple of cordueroy kilts. He showed up last time in a red one with fur trim around the hem to go with the red jacket and hat he'd made...a Santa Kilt...
Wellll.....I have to admit it wasn't to my taste, though it WAS kind of a kick. We all need a sense of humour, ya know? I'd not wear one, but hey, if he wants to, it' snot bothering me, any! Still, the pleats lay flat and the kilt would have been much like a "regular" solid red kilt, if it hadn't had the faux fur trim.
A couple of months ago he showed up with a medium- large-knap cordueroy kilt in a cream/tan color and I thought it looked pretty good. His workmanship is just fine! I'm spacing on his name...Mate, get a sporran! LOLOL...that thing you had on that night, Oh My God, what WAS it? But with a real sporran, or with slash pockets bult in or whatever for cargo-carrying capability, that cream/tan kilt would have looked pretty sharp.
I'm guessing that a small-knap cordueroy kilt would look a bit better than the large knap, but that's just me.

I ordered an Amerikilt corduroy (chestnut brown) today. I'll give some feedback after I get it and wear it.

I almost ordered a corduroy Amerikilt once, but the I got to worrying about how (in my experience) cord does tend to wear thin, and edges of chairs/seats might accelerate that. Although, no way to be sure without trying...

Yeah, luckily one was in stock and ready to go. This is my 5th UK, and I've yet to have to wait more than a few days to get one. (knock on wood).

Well, it's one way to keep corduroy from making that terrible swish noise when you walk
