Thumbs up Could this be proof in the pudding

I am really pleased to report that on Friday when we were heading out of the city centre, I saw no less than three guys in their Cilts, quite separately from each other, with their friends and girlfriends, queuing to get into the clubs. Then on Sat we did a gig which was a blast (some piccy’s below). My Cilt was never mentioned once the entire evening. Then finally on Sun I went with a friend to the local ‘Spar’ minimarket. This was the first time I would have been in this shop with my Cilt on. There were four girls working the tills and when we were there it just happened to be empty. They all smiled and said hello. No stares, no comments .. Simply nothingless. So I feel confident in reporting that the Welsh Cilt might just be starting to take off in more of a main line way than previously I thought. Only time will tell, but at least its heading in the right direction.

That's great, Derek. I think as more men wear kilts, more men will be willing to give them a try. I have not run into any other man wearing a kilt wear I live in Mid-Missouri, but when men have ask me about mine, I've seen the wheels turning as we talked. No doubt they were thinking about it.

Plus, with the wide variety of kilts available today, It makes it easier for men to get into wearing a kilt. I started with SportKilts, but have graduated up to the traditional style. But, I have 3 Amerikilts on order, and like the idea of either wearing a traditional or modern, depending on how I feel on any given day. When we, the kilt wearers lead, others will gradually follow.

    Incidently, nice pics.

    Derek,

Great pics and glad to hear about a non-event wearing a kilt. What is the name of your band and what kind of music, Celtic I assume, but how done?

Is this the proof of the pudding

Very encouraging report there, Derek. I saw quite a few men in kilts out on the streets at night in Blackpool when I was there during the illuminations last October; I suspect many were Scots trippers there for the weekend who would never wear their kilts in the street in their home towns in Scotland for fear of how people they know might react, and who could be encouraged to wear them more often if more of us did so. Considering the number of kiltmakers and kilts being sold, you'd expect to see them worn more often. I mentioned before that I don't wear my kilt to go flying, so the folks over at the airport have never seen me kilted; I think its maybe time I enlightened them.

    Its happening Derek,

Even over here in the boonies of the canyonlands. Was at the doc kilted yesterday and the nurse said her son wanted a kilt. Referred her to Kathy Lare for whatever tartan he wanted, then gave her the contemporary kilt makers addys for after he falls in love with the freedom and want one to knock around in.

Common sense tends to prevail over time.

It's true - the word spreads quickly. Our dogsitter has told me that he's thinking of getting a kilt, too.

Glad to hear these events Derek. Three lads in Cilts just goes to show that you have created an acceptable aura in the area. The two other encounters show that that you have added to the acceptable factor. Well done.
