Sigh...which kilt to wear...

I'm working an Oscars party tomorrow night and the organizer has been dying for me to come to one of her events and in a kilt. So I'm finally available and but kinda struck with a hard call...which kilt to wear...

This is definitely not an event where I coudl wear the UK...well maybe the mocker...but it's a hard call...there's the pinstripe Mercy, the Royal Stewart, the Blackwatch, the McDonald, the McKenzie...sigh...so many choices...and thankfully, I don't have to wear a jacket where I'm working so there's no need to run out to rent one and I can wear whichever tartan I want....

Just when I get all excited to wear a kilt to one of these gigs and I don't know what to wear....

Do you know the colour of the room(s) where you will be?

It might not give you the definite 'that one' but you wouldn't want to clash with the decor.

You probably couldn't go wrong with any of them, tho' if you're going to be a dancer, go with your flashiest tartan.

Since the organizer would like you to wear a kilt, she must want the kilt to really get noticed. I would go with one of your brighter tartans.

This is definetly a great problem to have! Go for the Kilt that hits you one hour before you are set to leave, you will be fine.

Difficult one to call 646guy but I'd say don't wear the Pinstripe Mercy. The Mercy kilt is very comfortable for casual wear (so much so that I've just bought a second one on e-bay) but you get what you pay for and it is a very lightweight polyester material and has only about half as many pleats as a proper Scottish kilt so doesn't hang or swing correctly. Great fun to wear to the shopping mall or supermarket but not for a big night out where you want to your kilt to make a good impression.
