    Dress Sporran Ordered

Well, I ordered my new dress sporran Friday from Scottishkilts. I have asked for a few alterations, so it won't be in my hands until the end of the month. Oh well, I wouldn't wear it to the pub on the 17th anyway. This now makes my total items received from them:
Charcoal tweed argyle and waistcoat - March 2005
Ancient Watson 8 yard handsewn kilt - December 2005
    Charcoal hose - December 2005
    Dress Sporran - March 2006
    Quaich - March 2006
I should have just bought the package deal in the beginning

    Here's the sporran I ordered

Oops, I forgot to mention that David McSweeney pointe dout to me that they have done alot of changes to the http://www.tartanweb.org/ site. It looks really cool, but still needs alot of work. Try searching for MacDonald to see some of the new functions.

Isn't that the truth! In the past year I've ordered a complete formal outfit, and a complete business outfit a piece or two at a time. I wonder how much I would have saved if I had just gone ahead and ordered the packages? (To tell the truth, I don't want to know. It would be too depressing.)

It's much more fun to order a piece at a time. (Makes it seem like you get more )

That's a great sporran. The seal skin would be illegal here in the U.S. I really like that cantle.

I am used to this though. The first tattoo I got I ended up adding to it 4 more times for a total of $500. I would have been better off getting it all done at once for 1/2 the price.

It is fun adding stuff a piece at a time though, as you get the jones and excitment of delivery numerous times rather than just the once.

What is the option for dress sporrans for you guys in the US than? Do they use an alternative fur source?

My dress sporran is made out of rabbit fur. I personally like the fluffier fir instead of the shorter hair on the seal sporrans.

I've seen lots of different kinds of fur (rabbit, muskrat, skunk, mink, etc.). Of the types I have seen, only sealskin is not legal. I'm sure there are some others, I just haven't seen them.
