Kilted Newbie in the Midwest
Just wanted to post and introduce myself, I'm fairly new to kilting, I got my first kilt about 2 years ago to get married in. It's an 8yrd 'tank' from J.Higgins in the MacDonald dress tartan. I wore it with a prince charlie jacket white kilt hose, ghuille brougues (sp?) and a black day sporran because we got married @ 11:30 am on a sunday in Las Vegas. Ever since then I was hooked. I started wearing it more and more often, starting out with special occasions, St. Pats, Yule, etc. Then it was just to go out with friends. Finally I got an AK for my birthday now I wear it any excuse I can get. Unfortunately I'm a corporate slave by day so I can't wear them to work yet. But I'm hoping to be working from home within the next couple of years. I just wanted to say thank you to all for holding this forum and offering all of the great information for people like me, I probably wouldn't have jumped into kilting like I have if it weren't for all of the great info I found here.

Welcome!
Glad you could join us!
Just be ready for the increasing desire for more kilts, it spreads like a virus around here!

I'm in Kansas City right now, but my Wife and I are moving to the Omaha, NE area this weekend. Hopefully I'll find some more kilters up there.

Cool city! I spent a a couple of weeks there, a year or so ago, for work.. We stayed at The Plaza..
I see you're a Sax man.. When I was out there, we had dinner at a high end restaurant in the Plaza. We were seated tin the basement!!! Turned out it was a Jazz club.. There was a 4 man band, Piano, Stand up Bass, and two on Sax... It was a night I will not forget!!
