    My best experience kilted

I was taking my daily walk in the park today, and stopped at the pavillion to rest. There was a group of people from an adult day care center who had been taken to the park to enjoy the day. As I entered the pavillion one of the ladies in the group said "oh look, that man is wearing his Irish skirt." I went over to the group so they could look at my kilt. I was wearing my 5 yd Irish American tartan. I showed them the colors - the orange, white, and green of the Irish flag, and the red, white and blue of the USA. They remarked how beautiful it was and sang "When Irish Eyes are Smiling."

These folks are too often forgotten, and I was glad to bring a little bit of joy to their day - they certainly made my day.

    Darrell:

What a great story, and what a wonderful addition to everyone's day that must have been.

There ya go. She called it a 'skirt" and in the end, did it really matter that she used the wrong word? No, it didn't.

This is a GREAT story, and good on ya!

    Non judgmental

I worked with Special needs adults for over a year, and one of the most touching things, was that they just don't care what you look like. They truly did love you for who you are and appreciated you for you. At that time I was not kilted, but I know that if I was, it wouldnt have mattered to anyone.

Great story, but watch out for the old ladies using their canes to get an answer to "the question".
