I FINALLY got...
"The Question" and a kilt belt!!!
Took the animals to the vet Tuesday to be certified to fly off this foresaken rock, and a lady asked "So, is anything worn benath your kilt?" to which I PROMPTLY replied, "Why no, everything is in perfect working order." This garnered a grand guffaw from the guy that was sitting next to me. Until this time, no one has ever asked me the question. I'd been wanting someone to do so, just beso I could use that reply! Mission accomplished.
As for the belt... pics forthcoming (borrowing the internet from Starbucks at the moment... everything is shut off with the move happening TOMORROW), but I stumbled upon a 4" wide belt with a nice 4.5" round buckle. It only cost me $10, but it looks pretty good and will serve its purpose. The next time I get an internet connection, I'll post links to pics.

Just a quick question..... Where did you happen upon this? I haven't ventured out to look for a better belt yet, and I always seem to get lost in downtown Honolulu...

So Blazn, are you and Morath going to hook up before you fly out?
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

Didn't you just move there? Hope the move goes well.

Great time a few years ago
A few years ago when I was working in Honolulu, I had a great time at a Celtic Festival in Sept. 04. Great Scottish group "Old Blind Dogs" played under the palm trees. One of the best things I saw was a local kane wearing his kilt and enjoying life.
Got Island fever though...and it is just a big old rock in the middle of the ocean.
Had fun though.

Perhaps when I make my brief return to the island on the 16th. I fly out tomorrow at 10PM with the wife, kids, dog, and cat to Newark. We'll spend Sunday night in Newark. Pick up our TrailBlazer Monday morning, and then we're off to Maine.
It will be the first "road trip" we've been on since driving from New London, CT to L.A. in January '01!

No. Been living here for about 5.5 years now. We're moving to Maine where my submarine will be in a shipyard.
BTW... no pics yet... haven't had time to upload any.

Are you going into the yards for overhaul and refit, or new construction? My tincan was built in Bath Maine, and I was a plankowner.

Overhaul. For a year.
Re: Photos... uploaded to my laptop. I'll try to upload if I find a hot spot at the airport. As of right now, I'm on a friends PC.
