Cold Steel
For those of us who bemoaned the elimination of Cold Steel's Culloden in favor of the Caledonian Edge, and who didn't like their plastic "FGX Skean Dhu," I just found this on their site...
The Brave Heart
Specifications:
Weight: 2.8 oz.
Blade: 4"
Thick: 2.8mm
Overall: 7 3/4"
Handle: Kraton®
Sheath: Secure-Ex®
Steel: AUS 8A Stainless
$64.99
I still prefer my Culloden's traditional grip, but hey, at least they still have an affordable, functional sgain dubh!

Nice looking Iolaus. Thanks for the find.

I love it and hate it at the same time
I think a knurled metal handle would look nicer, and perhaps a carbon steel blade as well
The ideas are endless!
Wear your kilt proudly, but carry a big stick

I'm a big fan of CS. Thats more than I want to pay for a knife that is basically only for dress functions (for me), especially as its not that dressy.
For EDC I carry a CS Recon 1 folder, or a 3 inch Voyager. I just dont have the use for a Sgian Dubh on a normal basis.

I like the blade. However, the handle has got to go. It takes away from the true beauty of the blade. I bet the sheath is synthetic too. To each, his own.

Here's the original. It took a bit of searching to find a decent pic since they're not offered anymore.
I have the full size non-serated version.

I have to admit, Iolaus, they are some pretty blades! I love me a good knife! (blade fetish!)

It looks too much like a kitchen knife to me

For day to day use I wear the original Cold Steel Skean Dhu, but moving off at a tangent:-
As for a variety of reasons I need to use a walking stick these days: for day to day use around town I carry their City Stick-a nice weight and with it's black shaft and polished steel knob it adds a bit of dash, and goes well with the kilt.
In the country I think a Thumb Stick is more appropriate, but a bit long for around town-in and out of vehicles etc.
