Xmarks Convention II
After reading about a potential Las Vegas gathering in this thread I got to thinking:
http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ighlight=vegas
If a Vegas gathering gets pulled off, how about a subsequent gathering on the east coast, like in the mid-atlantic region, specifically the DC area.
There are lots of historical sites we could visit, and I think a kilted contingent hitting the National Mall would be great. There has been talk of a kilted hike, so we could do part of the C&O Canal. And there are lots of places to gather for "evening activities".
What are your thoughts? Maybe we could start a trend and set up some gatherings in different places.

Vegas is more central than west coast. How about something a bit more inland, say Lexington KY? Or even Cincinnati or Indianapolis?

D.C. or Baltimore is doable, then the following year back over here maybe Seattle or Vancouver (Victoria to harrass Steve ....)

Ummmh, what map do you use? Vegas is about 3-4 hours from Los Angeles, not any where near central by my reckoning. From a purely geographical perspective, KS is about as central as you can get, both from a North/South perspective and an East/West one.
Not to say that I would be adverse to a gathering in Lexington, Cinci, or Indianapolis, although none of them offer the possibilities of Vegas.

I agree. Vegas is a great first choice and let's see if it comes to pass before we get too excited about further gatherings.
I'm thinking the Orlando area would be an interesting choice too. Can you imagine a kilted rabble hitting Disney?

Well, I'm not a rabble, but here is at Epcot last year. This is right after hearing Off-Kilter perform (they were great!) and I was goofing around with the hats.

Vegas is also a relatively cheap place to fly to, considering the proliferation of all sorts of package deals in that city.
As for an East coast gathering, I'm game for DC/Baltimore.

KCW, the above statement is true, strictly speaking. Not much, but LV is more central than LA.

Oh how fun would that be? Disney officials would go nuts! They go nuts when a woman breast feeds!
