new book: Rules Brittania
Just heard the author, Toni Summers Hargis, interviewed on my local NPR station and this book sounds like a hoot. The FIRST thing that Ms. Summers Hargis and the interviewer discussed was the word "fanny"...something that has come up in these here parts in the context of the fanny pack/butt bag "differential" that some of our UK participants often point out.

Sounds like an interesting book but I can't help but wonder if most of these gaffs are SO common that they are almost anticipated and that way too much of a big deal is made of them. Seems like any reasonable person would be able to tell when something is unintentional and that gently advising the "offending" party would be the mature reaction. That seems to be the norm in this forum and would that it were so in the rest of the world.
Anyway, a link to the interview will be posted later today when the show has finished airing. I'll try to post it when it's available...sounds like the lady is a good writer with an interesting subject.
Best
