Burlington Ontario
Greeting fellow Ontario brethren
I have been taking a fair amount of ribbing from my band-mates about my preference for kilts during our weekly jazz practice, and performances. So I have challenged them to a kilted performance. Anyone out there interested in joining us?
The location is a "Hole in the Wall" open mike joint called The Moonshine Cafe located on Kerr St. just south of Rebecca in the town of Oakville. It will probably be a Saturday night in August.
Let me know if there is any interest, and I'll set it up.
Cheers,
Rick

My midsummer weekends are all booked up, but a weekend toward the end of August is probably do-able.

Tentative Date
I have set a tentative date of August 26 at 8:00 PM and a secondary date of August 12 if the 26th doesn't suit you. I am just waiting for confirmation from the club owner.
Let me know if that works for now, and I'll firm it up in a few days.
Cheers,
Rick

Update on the Kilt Night
Greetings folks,
There has been a change in plans for me, and consequently, for my jazz group. Something has come up, and I need to be in Calgary on the 26th of August. So the kilt night is postponed.
On the plus side if things, the ckub owner likes the idea of a regular monthly kilt night. He is willing to support it with some incentives such as "Second Beer at a dollar off" Ok, I know it's not worth driving any distance just to save a buck, but it's a start. Does anybody know what other bars do to promote this sort of event?
Anyway folks, the next one will be in September sometime, possibly on a friday night. I'll let you know.
Cheers,
Rick

It's a sign!
I was just looking for a southern Ontario Kilt Night (possibly setting up one of my own) and found this thread. The amazing thing is, a friend sent me an email yesterday telling about this little place he wants us to go to with our wives... the Moonshine Cafe. I think that two birds should be killed with one tartan stone! Let me know when the plan is in place, and I will do what it takes to get there. I am located in Dunnville which is south of Hamilton near Lake Erie.
