I wore it on a dare
Last night, the Team leader comes across the radio and says, Mission brief at 0930. Training day. So I am wondering to myself, Self...what kind of training? I asked over the radio, "do you want full kit, or just 5.11's? (the kind of clothing we wear...do a keyword search) Team leader says...You can wear a kilt and flip flops, everyone else show up in 5.11's. Sure enough, at 0930 I was at the mission brief in my olive Utilikilt and sand colored 5.11 shirt. (with sandles, I don't own the flip flop type.) It lasted until about 0935 when the Program manager walked in along with the Security manager. No one minds if I wear my kilt around the compound after 5pm, but at a mission brief at 0930 was pushing it. I talked to the 07 a little later and he was fine with it. Good having a Navy SeAL Captain with a sense of humor.

I know nothing of the Navy system, except that following the word of the team leader was an intelligent and obedient action. He did after all describe uniform of the day for the mission brief. ha ha
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
