Looks like some kind of scam to me. Did anybody else note that the name sewn into the waistband was Tanya, but the guy says Tayna in the whole listing? Somebody else can have it, I don't need any tartan and the seam in the apron is pretty obvious.

I once had a Black Watch regimental kilt that had a panel sewn onto the front apron like that -- the kilt was about 50 years old and I assume that at some point it got ripped or torn badly enough that they just cut the apron off and stitched on another one. On the dark, dark tartan, you could barely see the seam, especially when you had the belt and sporran on.

Anyway, a couple of things about this kilt. First of all, that's the MacArthur tartan, not the Gordon. Also, you can't exactly take this kilt apart and have seven yards of tartan cloth to make stuff with, like he says. In a kilt like this, the inside of each pleat it cut out about the hip line. So if you did take it apart, the top 1/3 of the fabric would have all these big U shaped cuts taken out of it. Makes it a lot less useable for other projects.

I'd say bid on it if you want a kilt in the MacArthur tartan, and are very tall and skinny.
