    Kilt Belt

    Hello all,
This may sound like a stupid question but I'm a little stuck. I just bought my first kilt and can't figure out how the belt works. It is 2.5 inches wide and on one end has a 3/4 inch wide piece of leather which is about 12" long. There is also a small buckle in the middle of the belt on the underside.

Please help I feel like an idiot.

    navycb,

First off welcome to the forum! I believe the belt you have is an adjustable one. Do you have a belt buckle for it? Kilt belts buckle opposite a regular belt.
The buckle is on the right side of your waist and has a wide bent hook that catches onto a metal clip on the left side. You thread the buckle on the right side throught the thinner section of belt. You attach/adjust the small 3/4" part of the belt to the small buckle on the underside middle buckle until the belt is a perfect fit. Over time the doubled up portion of the belt lays pretty flat. Does that make sense?

    Cheers

    Thanks

After looking closer it now makes sense.
My buckle should be here tomorrow, I can't wait to wear it. I'm allready planning on buying another.

    Thanks for the help.

I was wearing a a slimmer belt with a western buckle until fellow X-Marker Michael Stienrok set me right. He gave me a buckle , told me where to buy a belt at the Highland Games, and at that Games proceeded to show me how to fasten the darned thing. I was happy to pass this on to the next guy.

    Cheers

    new kilt

It is a SWK in the Irish National Tartan. I'm planning on buying one of their heavy weight kilts in the Irish saffron shortly. I was planning on having Angus Harvey make me a nice dress kilt since he lives right down the street from me, but untill I can afford it the SWK will have to do, these are great quality for the price.
