New E-bay budget kilt
Arrived today.
An e-bay budget kilt, from Fredonline, claimed to be woven acryllic wool, 6 to 7 yards of material, weight 10 to 11 oz. per yard. I like the feel of this kilt, which has good buckles, though the fringe is rather coarse, but good value for £19.99. Its a navy blue self colour, though I see it has three faint white horizontal bands across the pleats at the back where the basting stitches were attached. Now I have 8 kilts; for the first time in my life I own more kilts than trousers but still a long way to catch Hamish!

That is a really nice-looking colour, Alex, and matches the X Marks shirt exactly - or it does on my monitor! To my eye, the kilt looks better from the back than the front. Yes, the basting stitch marks will drop away, or can be ironed out, but I am more concerned by the fact that the back apron is hanging below the front one and that the pleats under the fringe seem a little 'distressed'! All this may well be down to the fact that the kilt has not yet had a chance to recover from its journey to you.
I'd like to see it again in a week or two but, from what I can see, I'd say you have a bargain there. Well bid!

Can't beat the price and you look good. Good buy, I'd say.

Great looking kilt, the colour really matches the shirt.
