    This Is Spinal Tap...

I was looking to get a laugh last night and put in my "Spinal Tap" DVD.. I don't know why, but I never noticed before that during "interview" sections with the band, Nigel Tufnel is wearing a kilt... Of course he's sitting down at the time, but it's easy to tell that he is wearing one...

That lucky-stiff-who's-married-to-Jamie-Lee-Curtis often wore/wears a kilt when he plays with Spinal Tap...I'll have to look at the movie again and see if I can guess the tartan.

Chris Guest is amazingly versatile...I have a copy of "Mr. Henderson Presents" sitting here waiting to be viewed and one of the attractions besides Cute Little Judy Densch and Bob Hoskins is Chris Guest as the Lord Chamberlain. I recently went WAAAAY back and found National Lampoon's Deteriorata (a satire on Desiderata) on the 'net...in the closing titles I saw that Guest did the music.

Now, remember...should you ever run into him in an airport, do not walk up and say, "...my name is Inigo Montoya....you are the man who killed my father...prepare to die."

What's funny is that right at this moment, I'm wearing a t-shirt that says, "Hello...my name is Inigo Montoya....you killed my father...prepare to die."

Christopher Guest was also a member of the House of Lords (briefly).

That thread was almost surreal. I have to remember the films as I don't own them. I never really put all of those people together. I guess that's why I never win Trivial Pursuit. O'Neille

I THOUGHT I remembered this thread! I'm not so think as you drunk I am.

Here's the link to Nigel Tufnel's advertisement for Volkswagen:

Chris had to borrow the kilt. I think he chose wisely.

Christopher Guest also wore a kilt in "Best in Show", while doing his ventriloquist act at the nursing home. I think his dummy/puppet also wore one.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I just watched "This is Spinal Tap" again tonight... does anyone know what tartan Nigel is wearing during the interviews? Or for that matter in the VW commercial from last year?

Oh man, I don't wanna bump this thread. But I'm going to. Does anyone know the tartan from the movie? I remember the kilt in the interview and it seemed cool, but where could you take it from there? Nowhere. But I watched that movie for the first time since wearing a kilt and man, that just took the collness factor all the way to eleven!
