    Wink The straps don't lie...

I now have 6 traditional kilts...all ordered within 6 months...all more or less the same size...

When I strap on a kilt...left and right strap...both centre hole.

Vacation...English/Scottish breakfa(s)t, the not so wee drams, 5 course dinners, bottle of Chardonnay, coffee with a nice brandy...and of course a not so wee dram to finish the day in style (burp!).

Repeat the above 20 or so days in a row....

Strap on kilt....huh? umpf! woops!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHH!!!!!

I lost...(or is it gained?) a hole left and right

Took me a full month to re-conquer the centre holes again.

Kilts are great! They keep me in shape!

I unfortunately have the opposite problem. I'll not eat enough for a few weeks and find that my kilts have somehow grown and I usually wear them in the smallest or second to smallest holes anyway. It gives me a good excuse to go out and get some pub food and lay off the running for a few days.

Then last weekend I found I actually gained weight for a change. Two nights out in one weekend and not a healthy thing eaten at either. Deep fried vegetables don't count.

I've actually hoped you would start to grow out of your kilts as we are the same size. Expect a giant fast food coupon book in the mail. O'Neille

Lie they don't! When I expanded beyond the straps of my first kilt, I added leather extensions to the straps. I was seriously in denial. I recently had the kilt re-built... so now I can start over.

You guys are way too skinny. Teasing I am just envious. It is my responsibility no one forces me to eat

    Robin,

You know it could be that your straps have just shrunk with...err...all that humidity...err...or something. It's not you...it's those evil nasty shrinking strap's fault (Panache as enabler, He He)

    Cheers

And the straps were asked, "What is the waist size?" And they answered truthfully -

This is the reason why I'm actually kind of glad that I haven't heard anything recently about the two kilts I have on order (the fabric is on order; final measurements haven't been done yet). I don't want my new kilts to fit at the size I am now; I want them to be fitted at a waist that's 2-4" smaller.
The kilts are an incentive to lose weight, and keep it off. As it is right now, I have one kilt that is almost small, and another getting there.
