Which section are the in? Are they sporrans or what we'd call a bum bag (I think!) in the UK?

Bum/Fanny Packs
Yes, in the UK, they're called "bum" bags; in North America "fanny" packs, but on that site, they're called, "leather waist packs."

I think he means the "bum bags" or Here they are "Hip packs". I am really not a purest, however, there is something to be said about the look of a sporran verses the look of one of those things. I owned something like those back in the 80's when they became popular and though they are pretty convienient I would never wear one with a kilt. If you are looking for an inexpensive sporran there are several copanies on the web that offer "economy" sporrans for about $20-$30 including Stillwater Kilts in Minneapolis.

Yeah I'd agree, I can't imagine those looking that great on a kilt and I don't particularly like the look of them either.
You never know though. Robert, if you have one, post a pic and let us see.

They don't look bad. For casual wear, I would prefer one of those. My sporrans, except for the SWK ballistic one, just don't let me organize things well. Just a single opening that you throw stuff into. A bum bag like these would be perfect, and they are leather as well.

Don't worry Robert, no idignation here.
I'm still not sure about the look of them but to each their own. And as I said before, if you do get one ore have one, post a pic, you may indeed help the cause for someone.
