Bay Area Kilt Night -October 28th
One week from today!
Friday, the 27th, is the last of the month of October. The Devil's Canyon Brewery will be open for business (And where better to be, being so close to All Hallows Eve ).
No information yet on the bands playing.
Costumes are encouraged (especially those with a rubber duck theme )
Devil's Canyon Brewery Homepage is www.devilscanyonbrewery.com
The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I will be there
So who's coming? And are we dressing up? (Kilted Pirates anyone?)
The following details shamelessly copied (once again) from our friend Motorman4life (who hopefully we will see come next Friday)
Details, map and driving directions at http://www.kiltday.com/kiltnight.htm
SAVE THE DATE: Last Friday, Monthly - Belmont Kilt Night in SF Bay Area!
Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH... time for the monthly kilt mixer in Belmont!
Friday, October 27th from 5 pm on. Rain-or-Shine. Most of the kilt crew starts trickling in around 7 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.
Halloween Devil's Canyon Brewery Style with lots of cool singles, couples, families (and occasional sporran hating pug). No stress meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heat lamps and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!
No-host bar. $3 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews. Don't miss their fantastic "Full Boar Scotch Ale" !!!! as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections!
Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us! If we get advance notice on the bands that will be playing, we will be sure to post info. here!
Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002
WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!
They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company, it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location.
Cheers

My Heart's in the Canyon
My heart’s in the Canyon, my heart is not here
Up at Devil’s Canyon, a-drinking the beer
A-drinking the dark brew, and swallowing the ale
My heart’s in the Canyon, wherever I sail.
Farewell to the Canyon, Farewell to Belmont
Birthplace of flavor, where taste is paramount
Wherever I wander, wherever I drink
Of the Devil’s Canyon Brewery, I always do think
Farewell Full Boar Scotch Ale, deeply malted brew
Farewell Hell Raiser Hefeweisen, my hat’s off to you
Farewell Lager Diabla , always crisp and light
Farewell Silicon Blonde, you creamy delight
My heart’s in the Canyon, my heart is not here
Up at Devil’s Canyon, a-drinking the beer
A-drinking the dark brew, and swallowing the ale
My heart’s in the Canyon, wherever I sail.
With apologies to Robert Burns from The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and Panache

We'll be there, but no costumes for us. And...."My Heart's in the Canyon"...You have talent. WAY to much time on your hands, but talent.

Once again, that time of the month arrives. Barring any emergencies, The S.O., my Little Celtic Dancer and I will be in attendance.
Costumes? Not sure at this point, but you never know....
Kilted Pirates? Hmm.......

Uh oh! From the Devil's Canyon web site:
Full Boar Rationing / Kilt Ban Announcement
If you usually show up to Beer Friday in a Kilt and think its an acceptable Halloween costume you are severely mistaken, Matey. Think twice! You have been warned. ;)

The key thing to be woried about is
FULL BOAR RATIONING!!!!
I may forgo a kilt this one month for the garb of a Highwayman, but I want my Full Boar Scotch Ale!

OK all-
I usually abstain these days (not many brain cells left to kill off...) but I have to protest this outrageous policy!!!
My kilt is NOT a halloween costume! Why I oughtta......
Now what did I do with that battle axe and targe....."Honey, have you seen my claymore and battle axe?"
"Warning-I will not be bringing trews with me"
