Oh, I should add that this picture was taken on the way to church on Sunday.
All comments were very favorable . Many were shocked that I did it myself.
The ladies expecially liked it. One lady said "now there's a man after my heart!" (ah.. the power of the kilt )
It don't mean a thing, if you aint got that swing!!

It looks like you tailore dthe jacket to have more of an Eton Tux coat style instead of an Argyle jacket. I like that. The whole outfit works well together. Nice Job!

The jacket and kilt look quite nice indeed, good job. You do need to post a second picture though showing the kilt's pleats.
The whole outfit is very smart (I like the tartan tie that gives a dash of color to the gray ensemble).
Well done.

That is a very classy look, Jim. I'd love to see the whole outfit from behind, as I have a couple of thrift store jackets waiting to be hacked and you've given me pause with this pseudo-Eton style jacket.
And your solution of covering the slash pocket openings with patch pockets is great! Now I can stop focusing my searches just on patch pocket jackets.
