Considering what it costs in Norway it's definitely a special event!
I had visions of security guards just off camera!
But it's better if people are going to spend their penger they should know how to appreciate it to its fullest.
I remember an ad I saw in Oslo years ago:
Penger er ikke så mye problem så lenge så du har nok av dem
(Money is not so much of a problem when you have enough of it)
And neither is whisky!

A "wee drap o' watter" is kosher but most certainly never adulterate it with ginger ale, not with a single malt anyway!

I can't read the Aftenposten article from my Linux machine at the moment (wrong Flash) but I would commend Phillip Hill's book "Appreciating Whisky" (Harper Collins 2000 ISBN 0-00-714713-9 ) to you all (as I see Charlie Maclean also has on the back cover).
He opened my eyes, taste buds and imagination towards whisky in a way I'd not got from a book before.

A very enjoyable vidoe. It makes everything I've been reading about whiskey tasting much more real. In fact, I think I'll have a dram later tonight.
BTW, I've found a package store near me selling Macallan 12yr for $34.99. I'll be checking for other great deals tonight.
