    Veteran's Day Parade

Sadly, a low turn out in our little town, guess lots of folks had a three day weekend and boogied.

I marched in honor of my late uncle Don Macdonald who was a T/Sgt with Lima Company, 147th Inf, 45th Division. He fought across France and Germany with a Thompson submachine gun. His company was first to liberate Dachau.

Wore my Macdonald tartan USA Kilts semitraditional, our family colors. Did carry my replica KayBar Skien Dubh for my own meager service.

And, sadly, the well meaning young ladies with the flag in the background didn't have the same education we get about flag protocal.

First time I've worn hose up with flashes and boots...seemed to work okay in olive drab.

    That's Great.
You look good and thank you both (Your Uncle and yourself) for your service to our county.

It looks a little chilly up there. Oh how I long for a cold day!

Looking good Ron, and thank you for your service.
My dad was in the 100th I.D. and they relieved the 45th in the Vosage Mt., in Northern France. This was early November 1944. The 100th pushed off their big offensive 12 Nov., thats the day my dad was hit.

No luck in seeing your pics as yet, Ron. Tried the link too and couldn't see it there. I'm not involved in any Remembrance Day events this year, but tomorrow being Remembrance Sunday and as we are going out to a friend's for a meal, I will wear my Royal Air Force tartan kilt in honour of my late father.

    Hey Cessna,

They're up in my British gallery under the USA Kilts semi-trad in Macdonald tartan.

I am trying to be soooooooo patient waiting for my RAF tartan kilt. Do tease me with more photos if you can.

    Ron,

Looks great. See nothing wrong with wearing KH up with flashes and boots.

I agree on this case. That outfit just comes together for you. Maybe it's the helmet...

    Very nice Ron!

In the Netherlands Veterans Day was "invented" 2 years ago...outrageous!

Better late then never, but still...a disgrace!

I can now see your photos on this page Ron and you're looking sharp.

And seeing as you asked here is my remembrance day pic, kilted up in new RAF kilt before setting off for dinner with friends this evening.
