Looking for a kilt night...
As all of you know, I just moved back to the New England part of the US. I live about as far southwest in Maine as one could possibly live and still be in Maine.
Portsmouth, NH, which is a WONDERFUL city, has plenty of bars to hangout in (my fave being The Coat of Arms), and is fairly well accesible (and the Chief Kilt Inspector is willing to pick me up and drop me off there... no driving after drinking worries). Portland, ME, is just a half hour drive for me. Boston is about an hour away. I'm open to travel, assuming I can figure a safe way back home.
Anything in the works in my neck of the woods?
P.S.
I have e-mailed The Coat of Arms about a "sponsored" kilt night, but to no avail. I may have to discuss this with them in person.

Sounds Great
I live in Hudson Ma. and could do a Portsmouth Kilt night on my way up to the cabin I have in Conway Area. So a Friday Night would be best.
IT will have to be after ThanksGiving for me, maybe early Dec.

So there's only two people near Portsmouth?!? I'm finding this hard to believe. Is Portsmouth too far for Bostonians to travel?

Hmmm....Portsmouth? I might be able to make the trip. Keep this ball rolling, and I'll see how my schedule looks. I'm pretty busy all the time lately, but I'll try.

I'm in Salem, MA. I could see making the trip up if there'll be a few of us.

Why not
I hail from Newbury(port) MA so Portsmouth is quite doable if Im not busy on that night

I know it's very close to Christmas, but I'm gonna go ahead and throw this out.
I'm looking at my calender, and I believe December 22nd (a Friday) would be a great day for a kilt night. That is if we could all brave the bitter New England cold.
I would say to meet up at the Coat of Arms on Fleet Street in Portsmouth, NH at about 8PM, and go from there. I'll personally be on leave, so how late I stay out is driven solely by what time the pub closes or everyone else calls it a night.
Anyone?

That could work for me. Do you know of any cheap hotels since I’m not sure driving back to Mass after closing a bar is such a good idea…

Umm... not in Portsmouth. There are plenty in York, ME, but they're about a 20 minute drive northeast of Portsmouth on US1.
