November Bay Area Kilt Night
Day after Thanksgiving
You know the drill, Turkey soup, turkey sandwiches, turkey hash...and FANTASTIC BEER, MUSIC, and the BAY AREA KILTED!
It's Kilt Night at The Devil's Canyon Brewery this coming Friday, November 24!
Here's what the Devil's Canyon Website has to say:
Its Beer Friday!
Family, family family - Fun! Had enough of Aunt Gertie and Uncle Chester? Well get out of the house and down the Canyon, its the November Beer Friday!
But First Off, Don't Be Hatin' on the Cupcakes!
See what this is - that's right, yummy cupcakes. Know what makes 'em unique? First off, I have them and you don't. Know what else? They are made with Full Boar Scotch Ale. WHAT? HUH! WHAAAAAAAAAAAA? That's right! The multi-award winning Full Boar Scotch is more than just a tasty brew!
But hey, we love you so tell you what we'll do. . . . Kristiann is cooking up a batch of cupcake love for you right now. And that love is unconditional as long as you pay $1 for it this coming Beer Friday. Let me repeat - Full Boar Scotch Ale Cupcakes, $1 each. MMMMMmmmmmmm Beer-Cakes!
Maybe someday, if you're really good, we'll tell you about the cheese.
Beer Friday Bands
Caroline, (the better looking half of Openly Grey) will treat us to her beautiful guitar playing from 6-8
Then from 8:30 Till 10:30, back by popular bug-the-hell-out-of-us emails is the Jack Aces!
The Jack Aces are a Belmont Based cover band, founded in 1999. The Aces got their start in the living room of drummer, Eric Dentler, and have been a part of the Belmont music scene ever since. The Aces are available for corporate parties, private events, weddings, bar gigs - almost anything, anywhere. Influences include the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, and the like.
South American Tour
Brewer Dan (Handsome Dan) will not be around this Beer Friday, instead he is out spreading the gospel of beer in Fort Lauderdale, Belize and Cozumel. We will be taking donations to pay his impending bail and would appreciate anyone with South American or "International High Seas" prisoner extraction experience to contact the staff. Our condolences go out to the fine staff of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in advance.
Here is some information shamelessly copied (as usual) from the kilted Motormanforlife:
Details, map and driving directions at http://www.kiltday.com/kiltnight.htm
SAVE THE DATE: Last Friday, Monthly - Belmont Kilt Night in SF Bay Area!
Calling all guys in kilts (traditional tartan kilts, home-made kilts, Utilikilts, any darned kilt!)... That's right, mark your calendars for the LAST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH... time for the monthly kilt mixer in Belmont!
Friday November 24th from 5 pm on. Rain-or-Shine. Most of the kilt crew starts trickling in around 7 pm, although no doubt that Tim will be there at 5... first in line for a cold brew and checking out the opening band.
Post-Thanksgiving Devil's Canyon Brewery Style with lots of cool singles, couples, families (and occasional sporran hating pug). No stress meet-and-greet with cool, fun loving, people in a casual, relaxing, atmosphere. No cover charge! Live music, great hot food at really decent prices, indoor and outdoor seating with cozy propane heat lamps and couches inside & outside! Come with plans to have fun! Bring a friend (or two)!
No-host bar. $3 (16 oz.) award-winning microbrews. Don't miss their fantastic "Full Boar Scotch Ale" !!!! as well as about a 1/2 dozen other great draft selections!
Put on your kilt and come join the fun! The proprietors will be expecting us! If we get advance notice on the bands that will be playing, we will be sure to post info. here!
Devil's Canyon Brewing Company: 111 Industrial Way #7, Belmont CA 94002
WARNING: This place can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so pay attention; It is located in the north/east corner of the Harbor Business Center, right off of Harbor Blvd exit from S/B Hwy. 101, driveway just east of Industrial. It can be a bit difficult to find the first time. Just copy down the detailed directions from the link above and you'll find it! If in doubt, park in the lot and listen for the music!
They are open to the public just one night per month. They call the event "Beer Friday." Their doors open at 5 pm and things tend wrap up between 11 pm and midnight. We have no affiliation with the brewing company (we just like to bug Dan Curan), it is just a convenient location on the Peninsula and a great place to hold a casual mixer in a central location.
The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess, Master Sinbad, Xena, and I will be there!
So who's in?

(I just love these new smilies!)

Dang, I wish there was a transporter for these kinds of things! I would be so over this, although it would be like 3AM for me when I got home, but hey, it would be fun. And a transporter would eliminate the whole designated driver issue!
Have fun you CA guys!

You know now that Mike1 is pretty much done with the X
Mark's forum updates we should get him working on the whle transporter thing. If we could get O'Neille and him to work on it together we should have a working transporter before Christmas.
Cheers

Excellent idea. That'll make it ever so easier to get to Burns Suppers on two continents. It would make for a very long day but supper in Dumfries and then in Northern California would be a treat.
Have fun at the kilt night.

If the prototype transporter is ready for testing by Friday, I offer myself as a guinea pig to see if the thing works between Las Vegas, NV and Belmont, CA.
Otherwise, put me down for a pass this month. But somebody do take a camera... and no need to save me a cupcake.
See you all in December (...then in January)
Cheers, all.
