    Stag Head kilt pin

I have a box pleated kilt in the Ulster tartan on order from Matt N and I was leaning toward buying myself a stag head kilt for it when it arrives. I actually haven't seen many, but I did find one here:

I am completely unfamiliar with these folks and wondered if anyone here had bought pins from them in the past. Are they good quality? Or does anyone have another stag head kilt pin they would recommend?

    Thanks,

    Ialtog,
Just search for Gordon kilt pins...Although most of these will be Gordon Crest (i.e. stag + "Bydand"), I'm sure the search would turn up some simple stag head pins as well.

You can also get a MacKenzie (Seaforth) pin that should have a stag. Most of those will be clan crests types.

The Gordon Highlanders (may they rest in peace) wore a simple "safty pin" type kilt pin.

An alternative might be one of those pins made from stag antler:

I see them on Ebay fairly frequently (though I can't seem to find one now)

But this popped up which is a bit different but might be a nice variation.

Ialtog, I'm a jeweller by trade and gotta tell you that those pieces are somewhat short of the mark. The basic designs are quite alright but the finishing and materials let the pieces down. If you found a jeweller (or could do it yourself) to finish them off better then it may be worth it. I'd go with some of the recomendations previously mentioned.
