My first kilt
Hello all,
This past March (on St. Patty's day, none-the-less) I made my first kilt. After many hours research and some extensive searching on the 'net I found some plans I liked. (I see others have used these plans as well, so I surmise my research was well founded. They can be found at http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/chegc/kiltsite/kilt.htm)
I selected some clan McWalmart 10 oz cotton fabric with some colors I liked (with the help of my personal fashion consultant, of course: my mother) and set to work. I finished in about 14-16 hours time, which I thought was pretty impressive for my first time ever. I've always had a knack for tailoring though, and I've made all sorts of items since I was little (with the help of my personal tailor: my mother). At the moment I unfortunately only have two fuzzy pics of my finished work found at the following links:

With Christmas break coming up, I hope to get some more pics up. This time with the kilt on me, too. I hope to buy some wool with a real tartan to make an 8 yard dress kilt sometime soon, but we'll see how things go.
